About 4 Reasons why Speaker Manufacturers Make Such Good Speakers

By Nichol Potts

There are over 280 professional speaker manufacturers that manufacture numerous kinds of speakers. Speaker systems speakers act as sound replay of the terminal, regardless if the quality is bad or good or bad, and will therefore directly affect the quality of the entire sound system. Major manufacturers of speakers have a considerable amount of time and money developing new speakers to meet the different uses in different environments. Speakers that are manufactured overseas appear to see the direction of this development in technology.

Recently, there has been more stringent requirement for speaker systems as a result of digital audio technology. In order to meet customer requirements as well as the requirements of the new development in technology, some world famous speaker manufacturers have committed themselves to the improvement of the performance of their current speakers systems and are doing speaker research that is dedicated to the development of new design methods, new techniques, and new materials.

With VCD, CD, digital technology, stereo technology, new technology development, new structures, new technologies, and new materials of professional and very popular speaker systems have made considerable progress and many new speakers are emerging. Some of these include Japan's Matsushita, Pioneer, TOA, and Yamaha companies as well as Britain's TONNT and KEF and the US's, Bose Corporation, EV, and JBL companies have introduced several professional speaker systems in recent years. Their features are very distinctive an include efficiency that is usually in the 98 to 100 dB range and the bearing power is over 200W. In order to achieve these features the world famous speaker manufacturers have adhered to the following practices:

They use of a new magnetic circuit design with new magnetic materials. Companies including JBL's SFG used magnetic circuit design that includes flux balance, which reduces the thermal conductivity and the driving source inductance of the improved set up of the structure. They are also using energy product magnetic materials that have as much as 3.6MGsOe. This permits the speaker to have string bass reproduction and the capability to withstand an increase in the power capacity.

They have introduced new materials, including a diaphragm tweeter that is made for aerospace titanium. Since titanium is stronger than the rest of the materials in the speaker, they are also used for the manufacture of a high quality treble diaphragm. By using this titanium diaphragm tweeter, high frequencies have more of an extension of power capacity which increased considerably. They are also manufacturing woofers with a laminated high density composite cone. They are using voice coils that use flat wire since it has such a high duty factor and the increased utilization rate of the magnetic circuit gap will have greater sensitivity. The technology was invented by the JBL Company, and most major speaker manufacturers have followed suit.

They also use a new horn that has a long term exponential horn speaker which replaced the directional horn for professional sound reinforcement. Their other directional horn is the primary technology that has a different shape of wall that has a simple exponential and linear function that is discrete and complex so that they achieve a directivity that is constant.

They also extensively use CAT, CAM, and CAD technology. The use of this modern technology is the potential mining of conventional professional speakers, professional speakers in order to make for an excellent speaker. Representative products like SR professional speaker series, MR speaker series, and JBL's professional speakers.
