Bharatanatyam is an Indian traditional dance that involves body movements. It is commonly practiced by girls and considered ad the Indian national dance. When performing Bharatanatyam steps, there has to be the presence of classical carnatic music.

The fist impact caused by such movements is the maintenance of body posture. It enables one to stand at various positions without wobbling. These performances are refereed to as the Karana.

In the practice room, the use of verbal communication is not allowed. It hampers the much needed concentration. Stillness dominates the better part of the session, save for the music playing. They major means of communication is by the use of facial signs. When the hands swing, plasticity is enhanced.

When these actions take place in the body, other biological activities ensue. The muscles tend to loosen up during the to and fro process. This makes the person stable, that is, it facilitates the creating of energy in a body. The practitioner uses the eyes to focus on the swaying but without any sound from the mouth. This may not be easy when attempting it for the first time, but the fact still remains that generation of vigor is facilitated.

They have been known to be a perfect means of burning calories in the body, actually it may be hard to see this but in the reality there are possibilities of immense change in weight as the practice goes on. This is facilitates by the moving of muscles through the gesture and other jumps.

Bharatanatyam steps involves displaying certain aspects of life such as jealousy, anger, greed, loving and so on, the face muscles tend to strengthen. This plays a major part in creating a smooth skin complexion. The concentration made by the eyes improves ones vision hence decreasing the cases that as associated with poor vision.
