A Review of the Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet

By Lillian Cameron

The first iPad had a lot of skeptics; people thought that their laptop computers covered the same bases better. Then people rapidly started to see the genuine purpose of the iPad. As the industry caught on and Apple's accountants started rubbing their hands with glee, the other big computer and mobile phone companies sat up and took note. Abruptly, Tablets could be found in all the sales outlets. And Dell's shareowners will be distressed if they didn't attempt and get a piece of the pie. The device Dell is pinning its hopes on is a tablet called Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet. We're going to evaluate this device in this article and give you the answers you need for you to determine if you should purchase or not.

One remarkable feature is movies are clearer to watch than ipad movies. The first drawback on this Dell tablet is its manufacturer. Quality and dependability are not hallmarks of Dell's products. Dell's customer service record is likewise on rather shaky ground. A number of customers have shared that when they made service calls after the warranty expiry date, they were billed. So, while this tablet is probably going to be one of the inexpensive tablets sold on the market, you should take a moment to think about who you will be giving your hard-earned money to.

Today, multitasking between different functions is much in demand, and the Android OS version used here, called Froyo, should make it relatively uncomplicated. You could listen to Mp3s, keep your GPS data current, and be given notice of various things through the system's notification service without being pressured to keep any specific app open and running. It provides easy access to your Gmail and other e-mail applications and accounts, so you don't have to worry about whether you can be reached when you have your tablet with you.

A a very good feature of this tablet compared with the first iPad is video chat. Video chat feature is available in the Dell Streak 7 tablet via a front-facing panel camera and Qik software. The hassle is , however, that you won't be able to communicate with people who don't use the same Streak 7 tablet, or something compatible. What this means is that the video chat function is not all-encompassing in its application. A bonus for this tablet is that it comes with the On Demand service from Blockbuster. Admittedly, however, Blockbuster's recent troubles make us think twice about giving this Dell tablet a thumbs up.

Thus yar, there aren't a lot of reviews about this particular product though a few people are wondering what the purpose of this product might actually be. The Dell Streak 7 tablet's practical use is limited by its not being extensive and its consequent inability to communicate with other devices. Notwithstanding, a strong desire for a tablet computer coupled with a limited budget may make the Dell Streak 7 a perfect way to familiarize yourself with the technology. Bearing in mind the aforementioned caveats, ensure that you consider your purchase with care prior to committing your money.
