Emigration to New Zealand

By Brooke Gibbons

New Zealand may be the perfect location if you are looking for a move to the other side of the world. Its relatively untouched scenery and natural beauty combined with its ability to create a great work/life balance means that many people are drawn to the island for a complete change of lifestyle and a new start.

If you are looking for something a little more urban and modern then you may want to look towards Auckland as an area to settle. Constantly ranked among the most liveable cities in the world Auckland's temperate climate, great job opportunities and safe and secure environment make it a great choice for anyone looking to settle as a couple or family. Similar to many Australian cities, Auckland has been created as a very low density, suburban style city which spreads over quite a distance from the city centre.

Beaches, harbours and water sports are all major attractions in Auckland and these are helped by the fact that the city is located between two main bodies of water. Labelled the "City of Sails", it is not hard to see why, with Auckland being home to the highest number of yachts per capita of anywhere in the world. In summer, with an average of 22 (degrees c), Auckland's abundance of beaches get a real workout and in winter when the temperature drops only eight degrees, the abundance of warm summer style nights make the perfect time for outdoor entertaining.

Auckland has a great educational system and is home to plentiful employment. As the financial capital of New Zealand, Auckland is home to a wide range of financial companies and businesses. Auckland is also a popular location for trade and technical workers, but these tend to be located in the South.

Auckland's commitment to international language tuition has put it up among some of the leading countries when it comes to education. Students flock from right around the world to be taught in Auckland.
