Are You Able To Copy A DVD On Your Computer?

By Steven R. Carter

Need help with DVD copying programs or other methods to copy a DVD? If your computer happens to have two DVD drives, it can be easy enough to copy DVDs. However if you have only one DVD drive, you must first have to copy the DVD to your disk drive and next burn it.

Finding Good DVD Software

There are many of brands available for burning DVDs. Some are good, some are bad. While you can find some free ones which will work, you typically need to stay away from them. Those could very well install spyware, adware, and/or make pop-ups turn up on your computer as you are looking to use it (and I do not know about you, but that isn't worth it for me.)

Prime Brands for DVD Copying Programs

Roxio, Cyberlink, Nero, and PowerDVD are a few of the top programs around. You can usually do a fast search online and find out what you find the very best out of the top brands, but if you choose to go with those you ought to be fine. They aren't too different.

Burning DVDs on your Computer

You can also just copy the DVD to your computer rather than burning it straight to a DVD. A number of people like doing this more because they can just have all their movies on their hard drive, rather than the need to switch out DVDs in their CD drive. This is probably best if you would like to make a collection that you could play right off your computer. You should not need to have a special DVD player to do this, even so you will have to discover which file you will need to open in order for the DVD to play. (When the DVD is on your PC you will find a few folders available to look into, however it really isn't all that complicated.)

Finding the DVD Copying Software - Where to Buy?

It is possible to go to big stores such as Best Buy, CompUSA, and other similar ones - but I suggest that you simply download a good one. There's no need to go and spend extra cash on a box and elaborate installation guides. Plus, after you shop around online, you can get a wide array of programs with all sorts of capabilities.

Many are fairly inexpensive (as little as $20-$40,) and you may be guaranteed that these are safe. Just take a look at their FAQ's on their page and see what guarantees can be found.
