Could a Model Be an Actor? Can an Actor Be considered a Vocalist?

By Ivans Johnsons

Is it realistic to dream of succeeding in numerous types of show business? Are you able to really be considered a star, and equally gifted, on stage and on movie and on tv and on record and around the runway...as an actor along with a singer and a dancer and a model? The answer is: Indeed! Numerous individuals are quite gifted in far more than 1 type of performance or other show business function. Ten individuals, in fact, have achieved the greatest "grand slam": winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. (Five are actors, 3 are composers, and two are directors. The most recent recipient with the fourth of these 4 most prestigious awards was-the envelope, please-Whoopi Goldberg in 2002.)

How is this attainable? Should you audition for numerous industries so as to attain so a lot in so many associated, but distinct, disciplines? The answer: Three characteristics are needed, and you must have all three, to truly excel and become a star on section, on movie on Television, and on record. They're: luck, talent, and dedication.

Luck isn't completely out of one's hold. Yes, occasionally luck seems to become simply fate or kismet. How many times have you heard somebody effective say, "I was just within the right place at the right time"? That, no doubt, is true. But look at the situation more closely, and you will uncover that, in most instances, that person got towards the appropriate place at the right time via intention. They went to that audition (and the next 1 and also the next one and on and on). They went to that workshop...that reading...that class...that lecture...that performance by a peer or by the actor or singer they wish they might be. Once they were there, they may have gotten noticed and plucked from the crowd, may have gotten their big break, but it wasn't all luck. Put your own self in situations where you're more likely to experience "luck": Take your resume and headshots and reel or demo or whatever with you wherever you go. Go to open mic nights. Take a opportunity. Put yourself out there. You'll probably have your share of failures, maybe some embarrassing, even agonizing, moments. Nearly everybody does. But treat each as a training adventure. What did you understand that could help you do even much better next time you become "lucky"?

Talent is the most important element of achievements in multiple types of entertainment. Want to star in a Broadway musical? You should be multi-talented: an actor, singer, dancer. The more capabilities you have, the more effective you will do. Just do not distribute yourself too thin and become the proverbial "jack (or jill) of all trades, expert of none." Lead with your power, then develop from there. In the event you could only do 1 thing, what would it be? Act? Sing? Dance? Write? Lead? Concentrate on that, and get it done properly. Master your craft and hone it. Then increase from there. Absolutely nothing requires you additional on your quest for stardom than genuine skills.

But talent by itself is not sufficient. Luck alone definitely is not adequate. The third component of multimedia success is commitment. Being multi-talented and pursuing stardom is hard work for many people. It demands guidance on how to audition for acting, singing, modeling, and every other talent you may want to pursue. Believe of it: In all these decades, with the thousands of thousands of performing artists who definitely have come and gone, only ten have reached the "grand slam" of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. And each had lots of luck, a lot of talent...and put in hours and hours and hours of hard work and dedication. But they proved that it's feasible: A model can be an actor. An actor could be a singer. A singer might be a dancer. You may be exceptional at numerous different forms of entertainment...with luck, with skills, and with determination.
