Student of the Year stars newcomers Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, all of whom are promising new faces to the big screen. The film is being produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Shah Rukh Khan's banner Red Chillies Entertainment. Scheduled to release on the 19th of October 2012, the will be the fifth film directed by Karan Johar himself, including Kuch Kuch Hot Hai, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and My Name is Khan.
This promising young actor then took up modeling as a career at the age of 16. He started modeling for top designers in Paris and Dubai and has also featured in advertisement campaigns for Florence-based fashion designer Roberto Cavalli.
Siddharth then went on to enter the Mr. Gujarat pageant and tasted victory at the age of 19. After winning the Mr. Internet Popularity and Mr. Photogenic title for the Gladrags Mega-Model & Manhunt, Siddharth then won the 2nd Runner-up title in the final event in 2007. Besides this, Malhotra has also appeared on the cover of RedBook, Men's Health magazine and Gladrags. He then went on to win the Gladrags Face of the Year 2009 award and the NDTV Model of the Year 2010. Unlike his co-actors, Alia Bhatt the daughter of director Mahesh Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, director David Dhawan's son, Siddharth Malhotra has no previous acting experience and has worked hard to keep up with his peers. Malhotra's debut "Student of the Year" will release on the 19th of October 2012 and is one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
