Why You Shouldn't Believe Celebrity Gossip At All

By Simon Reed

The life of a celebrity is an open book. You may be famous with all the alluring beauty and other good qualities you posses yet you are always subject to issues, intrigues and malicious accusations. You are a public interest; the apple of people's eyes. Many look at you from head to foot and mostly meddle in your private life.

When an announcement is made public on the situation of a celebrity in any point in time in his life, a thin line separates the announcement as news from being a gossip.

In general, news is a statement or information on any developments involving issues, activities and personalities in a certain period of time. News may be communicated through the radio, the daily newspapers, television, or simply through daily conversation.

Celebrity gossip, on the other hand, talks more about the personal issues of celebrities. You could even consider these issues as trivial and shallow and gossip is not usually verified. It is based more on opinion rather than on facts. A lot of celebrity gossip not only is published in gossip magazines but circulate on the Internet as well. Gossip travels fast and today, with the millions of people surfing the Internet, it is the fastest way to spread it.

While news talks of things that are worthwhile such as politics, events that impact the community or environment, art, dance, music and the latest developments in technology, gossip focuses on things that should be privy to the celebrity.

Gossip and news may be differentiated particularly on the information they intend to communicate. News are present on a simple report with supporting materials to support the facts, while gossip does not provide any proof, but more of conjectures.

Gossip clearly are not always true and reliable, they being not verified.

We hear about the infamous paparazzi that stalk these poor celebs, taking all kinds of pictures then attaching ridiculous stories to what were actually normal events.

One telltale picture posted on the Internet is enough to start a malicious rumor which after not so much time, turns into celebrity gossip.
