Suggested Music You Could Try Listening To At Work

By Sharon Sylvester

I love to listen to music when I am working. But finding the right balance between listening to the music and concentrating on the job that I am doing can prove difficult at times. I often find that if I am listening to lyrics I concentrate too much on trying to pick out the lyrics which mean that I am not focusing on my job. I also find that classical music can sometimes make me feel tired and again lose concentration.

So here are a few of the bands that I think you should be able to listen too when working.

The first band that I will mention is called "Ratatat". Now this band are very easy to listen too as most of the music is similar throughout the album which means you can just put it on and let it play without having to concentrate too much on the individual songs.

I particularly like their new album which is like an electronic upbeat type of album. It is called DeadMau5 but actually pronounced Dead mouse.

One band that does have lyrics that you can just let play in the background is LCD soundsystem. With the lyrics being few and far between you do not have to concentrate on them so you can carry on focusing on the job in hand.

If I am working the late shift or even sometimes when I have come home I like to listen to a band called Broken Social scene. This band have some very good records that I love listening too as they allow you to feel relaxed with their instrumental sound.

Another album I listen too which took me by surprise was the Drake album. This is a quite laid back sound too which I really like.

I also like to listen to music from Amadou and Miriam. This unique African sound is really nice to listen to. Their new album "welcome to Mali" is excellent to listen too while I am working.
