New Action Adventure Movie Has Been Released In Australia.

By Yvonne Davis

The Tomorrow When the War Began movie is based mostly on the book of the identical name, written by prominent Australian author, John Marsden. The book has a substantial following of young adult readers and has sold over 2 million copies in Australia and New Zealand - though truth be told, a great number of their parents have read and really enjoyed the book as well.

The book was then made for the big screen by script writer Stuart Beattie, who also wrote the screenplays for the "Pirates of The Caribbean; Curse of The Black Pearl" and "Australia" among others. Beattie is also directing the Tomorrow When The War Began movie, and it will be his first experience as the director of a motion picture.

Well known young Australian actors, known for their various roles in Australian TV and film productions, make up the bulk of the cast

The story starts with a group of teenagers who live in a country town called Wirawee, who decide to go on a camping trip to a remote area of bush called "Hell" in the last week of the school holidays. While they're away, they will be missing the town's annual Commemorative Day celebrations at the local showground, so when they observe airplanes and jets flying overhead at their camp ground, they think nothing of it. They assume it's just a part of the celebrations.

When they arrive back home from their camping trip, they are distraught to find their homes have been abandoned by their families and their animals have been left to die from dehydration. The electricity has also been cut off and there is no reception for their phones.

Not knowing what to make of the situation they find themselves in, they hang around until nightfall then head into town to try and work out what has occurred to their loved ones and the township. Putting their own safety in jeopardy, they end up discovering that their town has been invaded by an unknown enemy force, and their families have been taken prisoner and are being kept under enemy guard at the showground.

The story then continues on to show the young adults doing what they can to wreck havoc on the enemy force using guerrilla tactics to try to free their family and towns people. There's lots of action and adventure in this movie; and a bit of romance, as we watch the young adults struggle against enormous odds to try and thwart the enemy forces and survive the surreal situation they find themselves in.
