Plain and simple, Will Smith is one of my favorite actors out there. It seems that a large portion of moviegoers would agree with me on this, as most of his films seem to absolutely crush it at the box office. Consequently, Will Smith has risen to become one of the highest paid actors in the business. It seems that at this point in time, he has his pick of the litter when it comes to roles.
This article will focus on what I consider to be the best movies of Will Smith's incredibly successful career.
One movie that definitely makes the cut for me is Enemy Of The State. This Tony Scott directed thriller stars both Will Smith and Gene Hackman. This movie reminds me of The Fugitive, but with more action.
It is impossible to create a list of the best Will Smith films without giving praise to one of the Bad Boys movies. For me, Bad Boys II was the better action film. Bad Boys was probably a better constructed movie, but the action in the sequel was unparalleled.
When it comes to his most impressive acting, I would have to say that Pursuit Of Happiness tops the list. It was in this film that I believe Will Smith gave the acting performance of his career. If he didn't win an Oscar for this movie, then I don't think it is ever coming.
One movie that I feel is worth mentioning is I Am Legend. While I did not care for the ending of this film, not since Tom Hanks in Cast Away have we seen an actor take up as much screen time as Will Smith did in I Am Legend. As the sole survivor in New York City, I thought Will did a great job.
Hancock is the final movie of Will Smith's that makes the list for me. This movie is more than just a flash in the pan superhero film. Hancock is an interesting story that takes some unexpected turns. Charlize Theron is great in this movie as well, and supposedly there is a sequel in the works.
I am hopeful that in years to come, Will Smith will have many other films that blow audiences away.
