Kevin Spacey's Most Impressive Acting Performances In Throughout His Career

By Bruce Richards

One actor who has made his presence felt in Hollywood is Kevin Spacey. Spacey has starred in a multitude of films, ranging from comedic to serious. There is no doubt that he prefers to star in dramas over comedies however. At this point, it seems that Spacey only chooses roles that he is happy doing, and does not seem to be working for the money.

This article will discuss what I consider to be Kevin Spacey's best films up to this point.

One film that I would definitely say is one of the better Kevin Spacey films is the Usual Suspects. In this movie, Spacey plays Verbal, a crippled man who is a suspect in a crime, however he rarely speaks, hence the ironic nickname. This role nabbed Spacey an Academy Award.

American Beauty is another film that definitely has to be mentioned in this article. This movie is interesting, because in the first few minutes, Spacey tells you how it is going to end. The story focuses on everything leading up to the end. An interesting technique that paid off big time in this case.

Outbreak is another film that definitely makes the cut for me. I do not know why I am attracted to movies about terrible things like this, but apparently I am not the only one. This film did very well at the box office, and I'm not surprised.

Another movie that definitely makes the cut is L.A. Confidential. This is film noir at it's finest. If you are not familiar with the genre, this is a good place to get started. This movie also stars Kim Basinger, Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce.

Finally, one film of his that I thoroughly enjoyed was K-PAX. In this movie, Kevin Spacey plays a man who claims he is an alien from a planet called K-PAX. Both the characters in the film and we, as an audience, are unsure whether or not this claim is true.

While these movies happen to be my favorites, there are certainly many other great films starring Kevin Spacey. In fact, going through his resume, I find that there really aren't any films of his that I didn't enjoy.
