Getting Started with Acoustic Bass Guitar

By Aubrey Crisafulli

A bass guitar that has no electronic pickups is known as the acoustic bass guitar. The body of the acoustic bass is used to produce sound. They are typically a four stringed bass however you can occasionally see them with five or six strings. Acoustic bass guitar is somewhat a recent invention. This particular instrument was originally developed by Ernie Ball to present an even more acoustic-sounding bass instrument that better satisfies the timbre of acoustic guitars.

While the electric bass guitar is usually a solid body or semi-hollow bodied instrument, the acoustic bass guitar generally has a hollow wooden body in identical style to that of the steel-string classical guitar. Very close to its electric cousins, it is possible to come across acoustic bass guitars with 4, 5 and 6 strings.

The earliest modern acoustic bass guitar was created in the early 1960s, as mentioned above by Ernie Ball of San Luis Obispo, CA. Ball focused to offer bass guitarists with a better sounding instrument. Late 1980s, MTV unplugged series helped popularize hollow bodied acoustic bass guitars amplified with pickups by amplifying the sound with pickups.

The 1972, the Earthwood acoustic bass guitar was released to the market. The Earthwood acoustic guitar was quite large and deep contrary to the majority of instruments and provided more volume, specifically in the low register. After a few years of its birth it became practically extinct.

The Victor Bailey bass isn't an acoustic powerhouse, nevertheless its powerful midrange and comfortable feel make it into a great unaccompanied acoustic instrument as well as a gorgeous, flexible plugged-in stage guitar.

The Thunderchief plays, feels, and responds with the resonant output and reactive feedback of an instrument intended to be heard with other acoustic instruments. It is probably the most rewarding acoustic bass guitar anyone could ever play, and it has a superb value.

Entry-level acoustic bass guitars are generally made entirely from laminated wood. But mid-range acoustic bass guitars may sometimes have a combination of solid components, usually solid top and laminated woods. Acoustic bass guitars are most preferably used while playing a folk music or a country song, although many pop and rock performers use this guitar quite often in their shows.

These days acoustic bass guitar is a component of nearly each and every music performance set. The sound it produce make every style of music sound absolutely good.
