The Most Recognizable Abstract Art Paintings

Abstract art paintings are always a favorite for art fans wandering the halls of art museums. This type of art is often favored by fans because it can be interpreted differently by each on-looker. These types of paintings are known for their use of bold colors and odd shapes to form an unique subject. Here are a few notable paintings of the abstract genre.

Wassily Kandinsky has been called the pioneer of abstract. One of his most famous pieces of work is titled Squares with Concentric Rings. This piece features extremely bold colors, along with circles placed inside squares. The circles are created in a way that resembles a bulls eye target. Kandinsky is famous for other types of art as well.

Pablo Picasso is one of the most recognized names in art history. Violin & Guitar is one of this Spanish artist's most famous pieces. This painting features various shades of blue and yellow that are layered in a way that creates multiple layers of depth. His styles often changed among decades and display the versatility of his talents.

Joan Miro is another famous Spanish artist that is known for his abstracts. He has a unique series of three paintings considered the blue series that has received high praises by art fans. The second painting in this series, Blue II, is the most famous of the three pieces. This is a simple masterpieces that uses mainly color to display the beauty of open spaces and primary colors.

A French artist named Robert Delaunay was originally born into an aristocratic family and was not intended to rise to art fame. He went on to study under other famous artists and eventually was known for his abstract work. His painting called Rhytme Sans Fin is one of his most recognizable pieces. The painting displays his love for orphic cubism by his use of calm colors and random shapes.

Convergence is a famous painting that was created by the American artist Jackson Pollock. Although Pollock is very famous in this genre of art, he first began his career with neo-impressionistic work. His Convergence masterpiece was created using the drip and splash technique that he often favored. He differed from other artists of this genre by favoring darker colors, such as blacks, grays, and tans. He did use a small number of bold and primary colors to create depth.

Willem De Kooning rose to fame during the post world war two era by developing a technique called abstract expressionism. This new technique can be seen in his famous painting titled In The Sky. This piece displays bold swipes of yellows, grays, and creams. Action painting, similar to Kooning's work, can be seen by many artist of that time.

Abstract art paintings can be found in museums all over the world. These types of paintings are enjoyable for on-lookers because they can be interpreted in so many ways. The style of these types of painting have changed over the years, but the basic concept of subjectivity has remained the same.
