Customarily portraitist's creations reach a heightened state of demand once followers hear of the beloved painter's death. Thankfully Howard Terpning prints however seem to defy this usual norm and are in ever increasing demand. Born on 5th November 1927 in Illinois, this extraordinary talented man started sketching at a very young age and by the age of 17 the Native Americans became the focal subject choice for sketches. After studying fine art at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art this artist first started illustrating for mag covers, advertising and story illustrations. These cover sketches are now in great demand as a limited edition were printed, especially the more famous ones done for Dr Zhivago and the remake of Gone with the wind.

Around 1974 a shift into the world of fine art portraying Native American history. Here the truth of Howard's hidden talent emerged and gained recognition from many prominent societies. Causing a too many to mention list of awards from numerous cultural associations, including the Cowboy Artists of America, where Mr. Terpning is an honorary member.
