The qualities you need are simply " the interest to play the violin and the tenacity to be taught how to play it. Is this a race? Heck " No!! take your time " realise that everyone learns at a different pace. I should add that these two options are absolutely fine " however for someone that for one reason or another could not go down either of these routes " I believe that they should still be able to enjoy learning the violin.
