Elements Defining New House Music Releases

By Lenore Bolton

There are very many types of songs and genres in the market. They all evolved from the medieval era. People listen to songs due to the effect it has on them. The main purpose of listening to songs is for relaxation, communication, meditation and entertainment. In order for artistes to stay relevant in the industry they have to keep up with emerging trends and genres. New house music releases are currently the most popular ones.

For centuries, the composition of songs has seen diversity and growth. It began with chants and grew up to more complex melodies, rhythms and sounds. Each of these genres are said to build from each other right from the medieval days. This genre is no different as it is said to have developed from the disco genre. Its origin is the state of Chicago, in the late twentieth century.

All songs have the major musical components taken into consideration when composing. Some songs have melodies that stand out more than beats while others consider the tempo more than the melody. This kind of genre has an electronic feel that pays more attention to the rhythm as compared to the melody. The electronic feel is that which can also be identified in other genres like jazz, soul and funk.

The most important element when composing or producing this genre is the tempo. Though it is based on a standard rhythm the tempo may vary. Most songs of this genre have a fast tempo. It is also characterized by a powerful beat with a kick drum put on each beat. The kick drum is what enhances the power in the beat and is usually generated using a synthesizer or sampler.

The melody is the second most considered aspect. Being of the dance and disco nature, this melody is translated into a steady bass sound. The bass sound is produced by electronic machines in the studio as well. This machine is known as a sampler or a synthesizer. Other aspects like lyrics are not paid much attention to as compared to the tempo and melody.

There are different styles of this genre in the market. This difference is as a result of differentiation in rhythm, geographic origin, melody and instruments used. For example the acid genre brand of this music is characterized by the use of specific music instruments with the main one being the electronic synthesizer sequencer. It puts emphasis on repetitive hypnotic style.

This kind of genre is produced in several countries worldwide. This brings about difference in the styles for example the Dutch style or French style which still falls under this genre. This difference is mainly due to the inclusion of certain cultural styles a country is accustomed to in production of songs. Other styles include garage, disco and funky among others.

With its diversity, different styles and unique production aspects new house music releases will continue taking over the industry. It is a very popular field and cuts across all age brackets. Artistes have realized that this kind of songs sell in this generation and are therefore producing more of this genre.
