What Are the three Worst Issues About Becoming a Celebrity?

By Ethan Lukeuaw

There are lots of excellent things about becoming a celebrity. First and foremost, you get paid to do creative job which you hopefully enjoy. In the process, you attain the love, or at least respect, of quite a few individuals. The bigger a celebrity you grow to be, the more power you have to influence positive alteration, to call attention to social injustices, to rally support for solutions. On a less serious note, you get to cut in line (and usually many, many other perks). And lastly, as a celebrity, you get the opportunity for money security. It is not a guarantee. Some well-known individuals in fact make really small money; they live on attention and press coverage and all the freebies they are able to get. But several individuals who have achieved celebrity status earn enormous sums of money, truly riches and luxury way past most people's wildest dreams.

But like everything in life, there should be balance. If becoming a celebrity has several excellent things about it, it is natural that there should be drawbacks too. Isn't that the yin and yang of life? So just what are these drawbacks? Needless to say, each condition, every individual is unique. But typically, these are the three worst factors about being a celebrity.

Number 1: You may lose your privacy.

While fame, attention, and adulation are no doubt powerfully attractive and also addictive in a sense, inevitably there comes a time when you want a little privacy...when you just desire to enjoy a quiet meal without interruption, purchase groceries without getting mobbed, or simply take a walk while not getting dressed up and made up for the camera. You hear horror stories about celebrities going to excellent lengths to try to assume some sense of normalcy. They make an effort to go to a movie or shopping or perhaps a restaurant, but must wear elaborate disguises and also use assumed names. Hopefully, the adulation outweighs the potentially tremendous inconvenience of practically usually getting watched, followed, and on display.

Number 2: Friends and family may possibly treat you differently.

Once you turn out to be a celebrity, you might still stay basically a similar person however discover that the individuals around you suddenly alter. You might discover "friends" you forgot you had, relatives you never knew existed. It is feasible that everybody will assume you are rich. This causes some celebrities to turn out to be almost paranoid concerning the question of who truly loves them and who loves them just because they're well-known and presumably wealthy.

Number 3: It could be hard to keep a balanced perspective about yourself.

A lot of people don't get applauded for their work. Most do not get adored. But effective performers do. And the adulation showered upon them by their fans can be tough to cope with emotionally. Adulation can tremendously inflate your ego beyond all reasonable proportions. It could give you a sense of entitlement as well as the belief that you deserve all of your excellent fortune and all the adulation.

The primary factor would be to maintain a balanced perspective. Appreciate all of the pleasures (in moderation, obviously) of becoming a celebrity, but keep in mind that it's a position of privilege, not entitlement. Ideally, it's the product of tough work and, in most instances, of years of auditions, coaching, successes as well as failures, along with a lot of tough work. But most celebrities will tell you: Regardless of how difficult the job, regardless of how difficult the challenge of becoming a celebrity might be, they wouldn't exchange it for any other career in the world.
