The following information is an attempt at comparing flat screen HDTVs from Toshiba and Samsung.

Samsung have produced the LE40C650 LCD HDTV, as a budget model. Unlike most of it's counterparts within the same price range, the C650 is not wafer thin. However, this product is considered by some, highly attractive. With a high gloss black surround, this TV features a transparent neck, which is attached to the desk top stand. (can also be wall mounted) At the back of the screen, one will find a metallic finish.

Samsung suggest that quality of the picture is excellent, and there are various options for connectivity using the 4 HDMI outputs.(i in the side panel and 3 can be found at the rear) Notably, this model has a number of digital media features, including digital photo use. Video and music files can also be played using a hard drive or USB devise. Sound presets and modes include amplify, clear voice and standard. This model also features an energy saving mode, which can be used while the TV is switched on, reducing the brightness of the screen from high, medium and low.

In contrast, Toshiba have produced the Regza 32AV615DB HD LCD TV, for families concerned about budget. This TV features slim line speakers and is encased in a shiny black plastic. Optional digital noise reduction is also added. Four HDMI's are included, one on the side panel, and three can be found at the rear.

A USB connection allows one to view photo's and video footage. The adaptive lunar control permits the viewer to switch the TV's back light off, and a light censor feature allows for reduced energy consumption.

With a multitude of sets to choose from, buyers should select the model that offers the most desirable features for them. Comparing flat screen HDTVs from Toshiba and Samsung should enable consumers to make an informed decision.
