Law and Order: SVU (Special Victims Unit) happens to be an American Law enforcement Television show drama series plotted inside the city of NY. The 1st television series launched out on the year 1999 in September. This particular season has been the first spin-off of the successful crime drama, Law & Order produced by Dick Wolf.
This unique Law and Order SVU series is quite diverse compared to the rest. The reason behind this is it was the only one that hits the detectives' private lives. This spin-off does not always provide its audiences to the trial and also conviction but it does bring the subject home as this series' detectives mainly focused on sexually based criminal acts.
Investigator Stabler performed by Christopher Meloni is the head of this investigative team. And then he constantly had the habit with allowing his personal issues get in the way of his investigations. Good thing his partner, Detective Olivia Benson played by Mariska Hargitay steps in the way to get things right. The only good reason that Detective Benson needed to join the group was her history of child rape.
Just after 12 years of playing the lead part on the show, Christopher Meloni or detective Eliot Stabler is actually retiring from the hit NBC television series. At fifty years of age, the Law and Order lead personality has played the role since the program broadcasted during 1999. Christopher's retirement came after his co-star Mariska Hargitay declared that she will be decreasing her airtime in Law and Order likewise.
Ice-T, who's starred together with Meloni in Law & Order SVU for almost all that time said that he is really surprised by the news of Christopher's retirement from the program. Ice-T suggested that the actor's decision to leave may have been affected by his salary expectations into the long run. "We all negotiate separately... at the end of the day you still have to sit down with the execs and hammer it out." Then he continued to say - "I guess with Chris, it didn't go his way. I'm sad though. Me and Chris have been together a long time."
However, Meloni simply said that it is time for the next chapter. And it currently seems that way indeed. Following many weeks of discussions, Chris Meloni is formally joining True Blood to be a television series regular in Season five. Exec. producer Alan Ball recently stated that the previous Law & Order SVU front side man will play, "A powerful vampire that secures the fate of Eric and Bill with his hands."
