By Hugo H. Cercil

Making your own beats is a good way of brushing up on your creative thinking. However, attempting to make your own beats without knowing what you are doing will cause frustration.

We also see a lot of problems with new artists when they are choosing which beats to use. To make your own beats, you should understand how the industry recognizes new talent. There are a lot of artists who don't realize that the genre they pick is important, most especially if the ultimate aim is to get noticed by a label.

Using original beat, or that which doesn't belong to any genre, is risky; but if you can do it, go for it ! However, for the rest of us, the best strategy is to stick with the norm and simply stay within an accepted genre. You can still be original and creative by enhancing your beat so that it sounds unique amongst the already rehashed beats out there!

If you can make the genre yours, then you can take on any other project because you've proven your mettle and try to create a musical sound all of your own!

Nowadays we all have access to the fruits of modern technology, new artists and the mainstays of pop culture can create good beats easily and inexpensively. if you're wondering how you too can make your own beats, you must learn the basic knowledge on audio loops, midi drum patterns and baseline. After you've learned the basics, you can expand your talent and get creative.

The mood you create in a listener with your beat will depend on the sound of your bass line. You'll notice that a lot of beat makers start creating the bass line before doing anything else. It is ideal to get a great bass line and create it into a repeating loop, creating a really good foundation to build the rest of your sound from. The loops you make out of combined sounds of the instruments are the essential aspects of rap and hip hop. Then you can stretch, compress or place a variety of effects over this sound to change the feel, tone or mood. You can now create more loops and vary the tones of the subsequent ones.

The last things you should add in are the patterns you create using the midi drums. A good strategy for putting more energy in your beat's sound is to activate the sounds of various midi drums . But you ought to be objective about the sound you're creating and be willing to change it when the midi drum patterns end up clashing. Midi drum sounds can be placed over your bass line at different points in a loop to make your beat more enticing to the audience.

Being able to make your own beats, ensure that your bass line can handle the enhancements you will make later on. After which you need to arrange the midi drum patterns and audio loops over the bass line. See? It's not that difficult to use these three elements to create your own beats!
