Tommy LeVrier: Some Of The Most Enticing Works

Tommy LeVrier is an acclaimed playwright. He has produced many of his in major US cities like New York, Austin, Houston and Los Angeles. He is originally from Daisetta, an insignificant town in East Texas. Some acclaimed individuals such as the Pulitzer-Prize laureates Edward Albee as well as Lanford Wilson studied with him. They went to school to Houston University.

The two individuals would then produce his plays; Jesus and Phoebe as well as Rapture among the Oysters. The Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston displayed them. In his career, he has also won awards such as the Lone Star Award. He was a Nichol Foundation Academy Screenwriting Contest finalist.

Literary magazines have printed some of his short stories. Words Work and The Persona include some of these magazines. In addition to all that, he attended Texas State University; he has managed to complete his Masters in Playwriting and Directing.

How to Get Rich is a much acclaimed play by him. The tale in this one is about a troubled couple. Although being over educated, they remain unemployed. The couple comprises of Daffeney and Huston. From the frustration brought about by not finding employment, Huston, driving a Volkswagen Bug goes through a University of Texas HR Office glass pane. Uncle Howie, an annoying neighbor of theirs, decides to offer them some financial advice.

The Alcoholic Drama is yet another play from the writer. Here, three rural women who had grown up together meet after ten years. Violet, who is the eldest of them, was also their bully. Still a bully, she brings back the forgotten harrowing experience in the two. They decide it is time for payback.

The title of the other play is Jesus & Phoebe. Phoebe is a teenage Punk Rock Goth singer but is hated by most people close to her. She finds a Hollywood burial ground a better place to run to every Saturday. One day, she finds Jesus sitting on her favorite bench. They fight over who owns the bench and eventually decide to share it. They also end up being good friends. With such prowess, Tommy LeVrier plays are sure to entice anyone.
