Make Cartoons and Animations For a Living Without Any Experience

By Jeroen Waning

Many creative people have dreamed of becoming a successful artist in today's society, but they fear the cumbersome process and associated possibilities of rejection. Their creativity and passion is never actualized because of the illusions of the barriers to entry.

People have watched cartoons since they were a child and some continue to watch them into adulthood. Many dream of creating their very own cartoon characters but are intimidated by the overwhelming time and effort it seems it would take to breathe life into such a figment of their imagination. It was indeed a cumbersome process to produce an animated cartoon before the digital era emerged and computer animation simplified and optimized everything.

Animated films or cartoon series have always been attributed to major television networks or motion picture giants, but the possibilities of amateurs producing artistic similar (yet less elaborate) masterpieces were shrugged off by many. With such a huge audience for animated motion pictures, it comes as a surprise that the number of amateur cartoon making fanatics hasn't grown with the explosion of the digital age. The evolution of today's computers has certainly provided simplicity, efficiency, affordability, and more possibilities to those who are daring enough to express themselves.

As a handful of amateur artists and software developers began to collaborate in the early days to make this dream possible, many years went by without the public catching on, and the dream of producing animated movies seemed it would remain but a dream.

The fact that creating cartoons and animated movies was now feasible for nearly everyone who carries their imagination proudly began to attract those who lacked the money and years of experience, yet wielded passion and creativity. The realization of the ease with which one could publish their short animation film series to the entire world brought an entirely new level of incentive. Being able to monetize their creations and start to make a living doing what they love justified it to be and invaluable endeavor.
