He does it once more, probably the best action films in many years

By Helena Sewartz

Mission Impossible, Ghost Protocol is the forth movie in the franchise (though first not to acknowledge its place in the title) and sees Tom Cruise reprising the number one role of the globe-trotting super agent Ethan Hunt. Across the series Hunt has developed from team member to lone wolf and now in Ghost Protocol he has to become a true leader of a team that, for the 1st time, he did not choose.

Tom Cruise, returning as IMF agent Ethan Hunt, once again puts all he has got into his role. This franchise is clearly Cruise's baby, and the famously passionate star characteristically doesn't keep away from the more perilous stunt work. The level of commitment shown by Cruise is staggering, whether he is sticking to one side of the worlds highest skyscraper (130 floors up), or throwing him self down one or two levels of a parking garage. Say what you will about his oddities, but the man takes a pounding at every turn of this movie only to rise up again and face down the subsequent challenge, the definition of an intrepid performance.

The aforementioned skyscraper climb is one of the most stimulating sequences I've ever seen in a film, but it is merely one of several fantastic scenes made by the director Brad Bird and his team. Even in the quieter moments, plausibly unimportant tiny gags (Hunt losing a disguise for instance) add so much to the film, like the fragile icing on a huge, many-layered cake.

The movie blasts off into overdrive from the moment the gates open and infrequently lets up, it is one hell of a ride and there's enough action and widgets there to please any fan of the spy film genre. The plot is reasonably simple; the bad guy obtains the key to the ultimate weapon and plans to break the world with it. Hunt and his team, working without the support of the IMF, must stop him at any price. It has enough twists and turns to keep you engaged but it never gets so complicated that you risk getting lost while you are immersed in the mind- blowing stunt sequences.

Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol streaming delivers just the the sort of entertainment action fans crave and as a outcome it is a brilliant popcorn film. If you do not enjoy this ride then entertaining you is a mission: impossible.
