To sync the home lighting with that of the system, you will be required to have a dimmer switch installed too.

You should consider large project if you have enough space. This calls for a total remodeling so that you can make use of all the space available. Build crannies and nooks into the wall(s) which will house the equipment. Let the entire theater area turn heads just as much as you want the movies to sound and look great.
