Psychological Healing Through Spiritual Paintings

Colors are known to have psychological effects on people. Various colors will carry specific meanings, for instance, red indicates danger, green success where as blue has a calming effect. Spiritual paintings successfully combine these colors; therefore, they have divine effects on those who look at them.

Spiritual images are distinct from contemporary artworks. Regardless of the religion of origin, the portraits are captivating and interesting. Furthermore, they communicate messages to the viewer. Most importantly, they help a person connect with the subconscious creative being. For this reason, the images help a person open up the mind and meditate easily.

Psychologist takes advantage of these effects thus use the art as a method treating mental disorders. Patients suffering from addiction and trauma get subjected to these images. By merely looking at them, the patient gets drawn to a subconscious state where he interacts with the inner being. This interaction has some psychological effects which help in the healing process.

Alternatively, the patient may draw the picture himself. The process of drawing religious images is guided by divine providence, thereby; one does not have to be a skilled artist. This drawing is done while meditating to facilitate communication between the artist and the divine being. The intended message will be communicated in the end product through images, symbols and the combination of colors.

Since the painter does not have any control over the process, he cannot determine the outcome. The message communicated by the end product of such a process is open to individual interpretations. However, it communicates the will of divine providence.

spiritual paintings trigger a person to go beyond his conscious understanding and will. They also help bring out divine being's will. Some people hold testimonies of revelation of symbolic images with special meanings while drawing such images.
